Requirements for sign-off

‘Triple C’

We are really lucky in Wessex to have such a hard working and competent bunch of residents, thank you! Progress through the CT anaesthesia module is usually uncomplicated and the following will help you progress through well prepared without any delay.

As of May 2025 Dr Zdenek Matloch is the consultant responsible for sign off of residents undertaking cardiothoracic anaesthesia modules.

The new curriculum is quite permissive when it comes to clinical competencies in CT anaesthesia. Upon gaining CCT or equivelent our residents will become consultants. The vast majority of jobs in UHS and the major DGHs require working knowledge and competence at OLV and principles of cardiac disease and its impact on anaesthesia; this should focus your learning.
